The shameless President (Gloria Arroyo)

Today at approximately 10am 1st of December 2009 Philippine time, the President of the Philippines "Gloria Arroyo" will file her Certificate of Candidacy for Congress in Pampanga, her home town. Whether she will pursue or not, is really out of the question, the thought alone of running for another public office after having the highest political position in the country is totally absurd. If this happened she will be the first President of the Republic of the Philippines to run for a lower position after the term. What does she wants? she has been a President for 9 years, What on earth got into the thinking of this shameless President? I am in rage, and if only I have a super power to stop this nonsense. This is mainly a political move to preserve herself from all lawsuits, as we all know this government under Arroyo is totally corrupt and has violated the Filipinos in uncountable times. Once Arroyo becomes a layman, mountains of cases will be filed against her, this attempt is just to make her immune to these cases. Ang Kapal! that's all I can say. This human being does not deserve the Filipino people. She simply toyed the Filipinos for years and still not contented. What a heartless and a shameless specimen. When are we going to wake up? We, the Filipino people has all the power to make or break our country, I know it is very difficult to start anew, but we can do it, we can still make a difference and it's not too late after all. As the last line of our national anthem say "Ang Mamatay ng Dahil Sayo" I still believe on those powerful words. Those words form our forefathers who died for freedom, for a better Philippines, for a better society, the dreams still very much alive. But these dreams to become a reality has a price, a price that our founding fathers already paid with their own lives to have our freedom. But politicians like Arroyo will make us slaves again.

My prayers for a better judgement form the Filipino people especially in Pampanaga, let Arroyo and her family pay for what they did to the country.

Gayweather, Pacquiao's Next Victim

It is confirmed that the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight will happen May of 2010, that should be enough time for both boxers to prepare the (though Manny can fight him tomorrow) "Fight of the Century". This will be the biggest fight in the history of boxing. As a boxing boxing fan I am so thrilled for this fight. Gayweather swallowed his pride and realized that this maybe his last appearance in the boxing ring and this will be his last chance to earn a huge amount of dough. Pacquiao on the other hand will enjoy the fight simply because this is the time he has been waiting for to hurt Gayweather, and yes hurt is the word.

One thing for sure Pacquiao will fight with rage, anger and will erupt like a Mount Pinatubo. Pacquiao hates Gayweather, that will be his prime motivation to destroy this blabbering baboon. On the other hand, Gayweather's motto is money. I know it's too early for prediction but, I'll say mine anyway-- it's Pacquiao KO to win, or a boring fight because Gayweather will be running all night.

Multiflow Review [Cydia App]

This application is another reason to Jailbreak you iPhone. iPhone lacks multi-tasking capabilities, one thing the jailbreaking community does is to come up with apps and utilities that Apple will never ever approve nor make. Now, multi-tasking is personally what I want my iPhone to be capable of. This app called Multiflow (mobile substrate extension) nailed it when it comes UI and implementation. I am sure everybody has been waiting for an app like this. Multiflow makes multi-tasking easier with it's activation method using the home button. But, it also uses another app's functionality, you need to install "Backgrounder" which is available in Cydia for free. I have tested this on 3gs only. I ran 10 applications in the background, one is TVU and it was playing while I tried to enable the rest of the apps. Here you can see my RAM before the enabling all 10 apps (155mb)


Now here is the memory (64mb) after running all apps in 10mins. I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the memory consumption but I did not experience crash issues on any of the 10 apps in the background.

Efren Penaflorida Won Hero Of The Year

The first Filipino awarded the CNN 'Hero of the tear award. Efren Penaflorida or kuya "F" as they call him started the Dynamic Teen Company when he was 16 years old. Efren a teacher and a social worker devoted his time for free to the less fortunate kids in his surroundings. Once again a Filipino showed the world what we can do and what kind of heart we have. Efren the principal of Kariton Classroom has been teaching the deprived children with his Kariton. He goes to the community pushing the Kariton Classroom to educate the children who are victims of poverty. It is indeed a true inspiration and a symbol of hope for everyone. Kuya F's dedication and sacrifice for these children will carve the history of the Philippines and the world. Thought this award is a great honor for Efren and a great example for the youth of today. I can't compel myself to question the Philippine Government regarding the policies of the educational system. Why do we have to wait for a foreign firm to recognize deeds like this? Now that Efren got the worldwide recognition I am pretty sure all the agencies in the Country will simply jump on the wagon. Such a pity in reality that our own Government is very much blinded and is having a hard time to recognize ordinary people like Efren. Kuya Efren, Congratulations are not enough for the great work you have done. Thank you for inspiring each one of us. Thank you for being a Hero to the helpless. My iPhone is Finally Legally Unlocked

After 9 days of waiting I have a legally unlock iPhone. Since 2007 people like me has been trying to unlock there iPhones by means no acknowledge by Apple.. Millions of people like me has been waiting for moments like this. O2 did deliver, instead of 10-14 days I got mine in just nine days and it's all worth to wait. Now, this is I call freedom on my favorite gadget. The delusional Gayweather when interviewed literally jump into the Pacquiao bandwagon and called out Manny. Well, Gayweather wants 65-35 as what Master Roach said "it's not going to happen". Manny does not need Gayweather, Mosely is there, Marquez still there and these two will make money too. Manny doesn't deserve a Gayweather fight. Now we can all sense that Gayweather wants this fight more than Manny does. Why? simply because of the money. Manny fights for pride and legacy. Manny answered the question for the record.

Pacquiao in Politics?

Personally, I will never vote for Manny Pacquiao, I know in his kind heart he wants to help the Filipino people. Politics is a dirty business and we all know that. Manny is unstoppable when it comes to boxing he has proven it time and time again. I can also understand the psyche of Manny, maybe he wants help the poor people in the Philippines, he wants to knock it out with his devastating left hook, he wants to prove that victory can still be attained in the midst of terrible times and desperate moments. Manny is a clever person who rose from poverty, against all odds, shone through hard work and perseverance and defied his predestined life. Now that his got all the money in the world and unprecedented fame he is indeed the most influential individual in the Philippines. But, Politics is never a good medium it's always been a cut throat and a corrupt area of humanity since time in memorial. Manny can still make a huge impact if wants to help the Filipino people by just being who he is. The likes if Michael Jordan and other celebrities made contributions by other means. Manny will only 1 or 2 fights then he will retire, maybe he is getting ready for his new venture after boxing. Manny, politics is way out of your league. You will not survive one round, and it has been proven when you ran for a Congressional seat and got beaten by the incumbent. People did not even vote for you. Manny Pacquiao Concert after beating Cotto At Mandalay Bay Arena

The ever confident best boxer of this generation had a victory concert at Mandalay Bay. This has never been done by any boxer in the history of boxing. Maybe Manny was celebrating his first 7 belts in 7 division in a first ever concert done by a boxer right after a fight. Well, Manny took some head punches from cotto so this is a very productive way of massaging the brain and stimulating it after a fight like that. As a routine by any boxer they will not sleep right away after a fight they have to stay awake for at least 6 hours, talk to them and keep them mentally stimulated. It does make sense, if there will be a sign of brain hematoma, neurological effect of course you will be able to recognize it. well here is a glimpse of that concert.

The usual bullshit of Gayweather saying that He is the best fighter and Manny has no versatility and one dimensional. You really are an IDIOT! You can't knock out Manny you stupid baboon.You didn't even hurt Marquez when you had all the advantage in that fight. If you are so good why don't you fight Mosely, Margarito, or Williams. My Macbook's Hard Drive Is Dead!

Nothing more annoying and frustrating than having a dead Hard Drive or a dying Hard Drive. I have replaced/upgraded lots friends dying Hard Drive and saved them a huge amount of money going to a computer technician. I never thought this would happened to me personally in a very untimely fashion. We all know that at some point HD's will die eventually and all you got to do is replace it. What's so infuriating about my experience is that I was not expecting my HD to die soon though I am expecting it in a year or two. I've had this Macbook for exactly two years now. The first year was smooth sailing and I was happy with the switch from PC. Second year, I started to notice some changes with the hard drive primarily the noise, it was negligible so I just ignored it. Then, I started to notice that my Macbook was getting very hot in a short time as a result draining my battery quickly. Eventually, today at 1pm I just found out that my 2 year old Macbook's Hard Drive just completely stopped working. I tried to resurrect it but to know avail, A quick rush to PC world for HD hunting. Because of the varieties of HD brands it took me a while to decide the one suitable for my need. Finally, I settled with WD Scorpio Blue 320GB. It cost me 70£ a bit expensive but considering the time and need this was my best option. Good that I backed up my HD so all the precious files are not lost. I strongly suggest that you should back up your files it is a life saver indeed. What where the signs of my dying HD? First HD noise, I am not sure if that was mechanical or software related, one thing for sure that familiar grinding noise was present when I tried to resuscitate it. Secondly, some minor system failure like not responding, random freezes, and memory problem these are all retrospective now. if you want to know more about the signs of a dying HD click here. We have to vigilant about our Hard Drive's behavior to avoid headache. I am not saying that Apple's factory HD are mediocre. It is very important also to understand the lifespan of our HD's so we can do some planning in replacing it. For me I did both, from 160 to 320 gb. I am just hoping that this will last longer.

Manny Pacquiao-Cotto Fight Replay

I don't want to talk about what happened or how Manny won against Miguel Cotto on November 14 because we all witnessed the destruction unleashed by the Pacman. I just want to talk about my feelings. While watching the fight on pay/view I admit that I got so nervous during the 1st and second round. In fact 5 of us had the same apprehension and feared that Manny might be having difficulty on this fight and will fall victim to Cotto's relentless arsenal. After the 3rd round I found calm and assurance that the fight will be over soon. As one of the so many people who watched Pacquiao since his amateur boxing career (blow by blow boxing) and now witnessed his greatness by displaying his pure genius and physical power in making history as the only boxer to have 7 belts in 7 weight class. Manny defied all the boxing logic and alienated so many boxing analyst to the point that you will question your own judgement as far as boxing is concern. Manny Pacquiao single handedly Makes all Filipino proud and united every time his is in the ring. He puts the Philippine map in the history of boxing that will never be erased. His attitude and sportsman conduct is very humbling indeed. The greatest fighter ever stepped in the ring....and yes better than Ali... Manny Pacquiao thank you once again for making us so proud!!! As predicted Manny Pacquiao won, but won in a very classy fashion. He totally annihilated Miguel Cotto, a champion, younger, bigger and stronger fighter. Who would have thought the little man from the Philippines totally overpowered Cotto. A truly magnificent fighter and without a doubt the best in the world! O2 Uk Offers iPhone Ulock For Free

This is a very good news indeed for O2-UK customers. As of Nov. 10 ,2009, O2 is offering unlock for pay monthly customers which will take 14 days to process. Initially there was a 15£ cost. When I phoned them 4 hrs ago even a better news,,,,, they will do it for free. For prepaid customers they have to wait 1 year before they can unlock and it will cost them a minimal amount of 14.69£. All you have to do is to complete the unlocking form and wait for text confirmation for the next instructions which involved connecting to iTunes. I have sent a request for mine already which means--------Freedom at last!!!!..... this is a very clever move by O2 to continue to entice customers to stay with them since iPhone is NOT exclusive to them anymore, Orange wants a piece of the pie. I can't hide what I am

Filipinos around the world making a living or immigrants are indeed a source of inspirations and worth admiring for. We, OFW's bring billions of dollars to the country every year, we are the most consistent economy boosters of the country. While it's true that some are ashamed to be called Filipinos. Majority of us even the new generations are making marks and extremely proud of who we are and where we come from. Our ingenuity, work ethics and attitude to life made us excels in so many aspects. What does it take to be a true Filipino? How do we maintain our roots while in another country How do show who we really are? These are just some challenges that we face every single day. While some manifest in deeds, others portray in a more physical yet meaningful ways. Personally, I am proud being a Filipino by heart or by showing it off. I am one of so many Pinoys who tattooed themselves with something related to Philippines. You might say, that's nonsense and irrelevant, you could be right or you could be absolutely wrong. The bottom line is, be proud of who you are and where you come from. Here's my ongoing tattoo, it's not quite finish. 3 stars are to be added.

Making Auxiliary line in for Bose Sound Dock

Warning: without a doubt this voids the warranty/insurance of the device. This hack is never endorsed nor approved by Bose. I did not come up with this hack, credit to Mike for this great tutorial. Please read Mike's tutorial also before hacking your sound dock. For years I have lived in frustrations with the lack auxiliary input on this sound dock. What made me decide to do this hack is the absence of support for iPhones. Yes, the audio from iPhones will come out but it will not charge and you will not be able to receive phone calls. Besides when I docked my iPhone it got very hot, I then phoned Bose UK about my concerns, and gladly asked for 70£ for converting it, I know I can do it a lot cheaper or I can just buy a Firewire to USB converter for less than 20£. Back to the hack, you will need the following; soldering iron, soldering lead, phillips screw driver, torque screw driver (T8), stereo jack (preferably screw type) and wires (preferably stranded), strong adhesive. I used the wires of an old non-functioning iPod controller which has 6 wires inside, much cleaner cleaner result. Just use your imagination ü Now unscrew 4 phillips screws, then 3 torques, now you should be able to pull the circuit board which is connected to a ribbon wires a few inches from the dock, be gentle you don't want to break the connection or else say your sound dock goodbye. It should look like this. Now to find pins 13 (right audio), 14 (left audio) & 24 (ground) it's very easy, just on the ribbon connection you'll see nos. 1 on the left and 24 on the right side. Which means that you'll start counting from the left. Once you've found pins 13 & 14 start soldering. Remember these are very fine space on the PCB just enough for a very fine wires. Note: if your soldering skills it not that good I suggest practicing before the attempt to have more control on the soldering iron. Too much heat will certainly damage the PCB even your sound dock. Here it is after soldering. Next step is to solder the audio jack side. After soldering you can now test if its working or not. iPod must be docked to power the sound dock. The remote control should also work. Now, find a place for the stereo jack, you can put it anywhere you want. I was tempted to put it at the front but, for aesthetic reasons I decided to put on the left side of the docking system. I had a screw type jack but the thickness is not enough so I ended up using a glue to fix the audio jack. Enjoy your very cheap aux in with a very expensive satisfaction. Now you can play anything on your Bose Sound Dock, not just iPods. Total cost 1.59£ for the Audio jack (at Maplin Store) and 1 hour of my time ^_^ Hope this helps. -- Post From My iPhone

DIY, protecting your magsafe DC connector

I had about 30min free time so I decided to make a sort of a protection for the Magsafe DC connector since this one of the areas that is very prone to wear and tear and even breakage. For this one I used a spare usb insulator (male connector side) to extend the handling and for protection. This seems ok to use Now cut the wire and start separating the black plastic cover from the actual metal usb port. I used my swiss army knife. Now try to fit just to make sure that it will look ok. At this point, I used glue gun as an adhesive, it's easy to apply and easy to remove as well. Fill the inside, be generous stuffing the inside. Warning: use protective gloves when stuffing. It should look like these when the glue is cooled. Get rid of the extra glue and it should look like this. Now the final product,after mins of hardwork. Now you have a cheap extender for extra hold. You can cover it with anything you want. I covered mine with red electrical tape. Hope this helps :))
